“I am here for everyone, without bias of any kind. I offer my open heart, gentleness, full presence and a willingness to meet and support you where you are (on any given day), in peaceful, loving presence. My approach is collaborative, holistic and creative and tailored to your specific needs. My hope is that you will feel relaxed and safe to unburden and share whatever may need to be voiced and heard. I also understand that sometimes you may not feel like deep sharing and simply be in need of a peaceful and safe space to be created and held for you, and this can be provided with love and care too” Cecilia
Cecilia’s Spiritual Care in Hospital & Hospice settings:
Cecilia’s professional experience has included an extensive placement as part of the Spiritual Care / Chaplaincy Team at the RUH Hospital in Bath, mostly supporting patients and families on the Cancer ward, ICU and NICU.
Cecilia is currently a Spiritual Care Mentor at Dorothy House Hospice, supporting patients and their loved ones in person at the main site in Winsley, Wiltshire.
Cecilia has supported children and their families at both Julia’s House Hospice and Children’s Hospice South West.
Please note, sessions with Cecilia are an alternative to working with an accredited counsellor, although there may be some similarities, for example active listening and confidentiality.
Some reflections from Cecilia about her work and approach…
Sometimes when the ground beneath us feels unstable, when our world has changed quickly and unexectedly, when we need to express and explore our feelings with someone outside our immediate circle, when support and guidance is sought as we navigate a new landscape… that’s where I may be able to walk alongside you and support you.
Statistically, only 6% of the UK population are actively practicing a religion. As there is a majority shift away from prescribed religion, it’s important to acknowledge that our emotional and spiritual needs have not changed - perhaps this has created a void. Where once upon a time, a local religious leader may have come to offer support at a time of acute bereavement or personal challenge, now, this immediate and particular kind of support is largely absent.
Cecilia is also a Professional Musician and Sound Healer…
As a Musician:
Cecilia is also a successful Professional Singer / Musician - sometimes the healing benefits of her beautiful singing voice are invaluable in her work - it can be particularly meaningful when talking isn’t possible, or the right words cannot be found. (Please click HERE for Cecilia’s music website).
Singing collectively has many well researched benefits too, and Cecilia is an excellent and experienced Singing Group Facilitator. Cecilia set up and ran a successful Singing Group at Dorothy House Hospice over several years.
Sound Healing:
There is also the option of weaving Sound Healing into a session - this may offer an additional benefit, perhaps especially when a client needs support, but would like to keep talking to a minimum. Having accidentally discovered that meditating with Tibetan Singing Bowls was a cure for a severe 30 year sleep disorder, Cecilia is able to interweave Sound Healing Meditation into a session (using Singing Bowls and Gongs), as part of her integrated therapeutic approach.
